"The National Speech & Debate Association is the nation’s oldest and largest forensic honor society and is widely regarded as the highest standard of excellence in secondary school speech and debate. With membership in the National Speech & Debate Association, any high school student, middle school student, and coach is eligible to achieve standing in the organization’s honor society.
Students achieve advanced standing within the honor society by earning points through speech and debate competition, as well as community speaking engagements. Additionally, coaches receive a percentage of the points earned by their students. Details on how points are earned vary depending on whether one is associated with a high school or middle school program. For details, view a complete summary of Points and Degrees (NSDA, 2014)."
